Sonny's BBQ

I don't usually do barbecue, but the stuff here is good and reasonably priced. Great service too.

I ordered a beef brisket sandwich to go. I was so impressed with the lady running the counter. She was prompt, attentive and personable. She was the definition of customer service. She quickly took my order gave me my drink and during my short wait she kept me posted on my order and when she gave me my order she even asked if she could top off my beverage.

I love food from here. My issue tonight is the girl at the takeout counter I think her name was Audrey. She is rude on day and night shift. The eye roll she gives when you ask for extra ranch makes you want to scream and when other staff members know exactly who you're talking about just by that description you know she is an issue. My dear you are terrible with customers, read my order back to me and still gave it to me wrong. From here on out when I hear your voice I know not to come in that day.

Food was awesome. Service was nice as well.

Redneck egg rolls and the sweet tea

The food was pretty good. They were very busy as it was Sunday around noon. Service was good despite being so packed. Unfortunately my pulled pork was not hot. Good flavor but more room temp.

I made an order a couple weeks ago and it was wrong. I called and I was told they would put a $15 credit in my name on the books. I just called to place an order and use my credit and was told by the “manager” that there was nothing he can do to help me. I’m so disappointed at how he was with me that I hung up.

It was very good! Hot foods hot and cold foods cold. Good sweet tea and the BBQ moist and juicy. Service was very good also.

Fast take out. Delicious food as always. Been eating at this one for 25+ years. Some prices getting high but so has meat cost everywhere that sell REAL food. Kinda liked the old garlic bread more though. New kind is giant.

Had a Sonny's big deal and jt was great. Chicken was moist and flavorful and the broccoli side was cooked perfectly.

Our Sonny's in Alachua is the best ever! The Redneck egg rolls are excellent! Staff is super friendly and service is always fast.

Amazing food. We hadn't been in a while due to not being happy with the food the last time, but this time more than made up for before. Sliced pork, ribs, mac-n-cheese, chicken, sweet potato...all fantastic. The service was great too and to top it off we were shocked when we got the bill because it wasn't as expensive as the places we usually go to. Two adult entrees, two kids meals, and 5 drinks and we made it out of there at $40. And both of the adult entrees were the 3-meat combo! Highly recommend giving them a try! We will definitely be back.

Back to being good again. Love the salad bar. Smoked turkey and beef brisket with in house sauce is excellent

They've got some new items since the last time I ate there. The whole hog sandwich was very good. Fried okra is to die for.

David our server was very helpful, friendly and took our orders very quickly when we sat down. He checked the beer menu for me. Our orders were perfect. The food itself was fantastic. The bread could use more garlic as I didn't detect any but that could be due to the powerful flavor of the sauce. The menu is cheap and the. Portions are very good. I would definitely recommend this place if you're driving through. Take out options, and fast service when dining in!

The Sonnys in Dade City is a great place for BBQ..the service, food and cleanliness of this establishment brought us back on more than one occasion!! This is my husbands favorite place to eat..ever!! Each state we visit he says”Is there a Sonnys”? Or when we atop for BBQ anywhere else he says” this isn’t anything like sonny’s “Needless to say we will be back!! I am sure at every Sonnys along the way

Nice place for the family, the food was very good. We tried the bone in chicken, sliced brisket and pork with fries, corn on the cob, green beans, baked beans, garlic bread and corn bread. All was delicious. No complaints here. The tea is country style 👍 and lets not forget the service.... it was great service.

The quality of this Sonnys has went downhill the past 10 years. It is hit or miss at best. When it is good it is good, when it it bad it is bad, no in-between. 😐

Fast, friendly excellent BBQ. Ran out of baby back ribs before we got there, but sliced brisket, sweet pulled pork, and St Louis ribs all were great.

Tasty... Had family sampler. Gives me a little of everything. Our server was awesome!

Got to give a shout out to the team at Sonny's in Alachua. Stopped there to get curbside lunch a few days ago. They were very organized, got us in and out quickly and the food was yummy.

The food was terrible my wife got a burger and fries the burger was ordered well done it came out raw in the center the fries were almost burned I ordered the pick 2 meats ribs and chicken ribs were tough chicken was dry My wife sent her burger and fries back the second order of fries was the same our waitress brought a third order of fries that looked good THE BEST PART OF OUR VISIT WAS OUR AWESOME WAITRESS ALEXIS Throughout all of the turmoil she did a most awesome job of serving us 5 stars for ALEXIS who served table 42 on September 27th 2019

Great salad bar, delicious BBQ, and chicken. The servers I have had are friendly and attentive to your needs.

Food came out hot and the servers are always nice at Sonnys. Although I did not eat from the salad bar it did look very clean with fresh food, nothing looked old or soggy. The place was clean and so were the bathrooms. The front had a bar as well.

Southern good here is a delight, The place itself is warm and cozy and the staff very curtious..

Lots of food, got the salad bar had lots of good leftovers. Great reasonably priced place. Casual dining it is a chain so there is consistency.

The ribs here are very tasty and meaty. Cornbread is very big and moist. Potato salad is very creamy and good value for the money and we at there twice during our visit to Florida.

After eating rubbery meat from the Tallahassee location I was nervous but WOWZERS y’all knocked it out of the park. If I knew it was going to be so good I would’ve ordered 3 sandwiches. Insanely good, juicy, fall apart brisket.

I've always loved Sonny's, and this is a good one. Since I have dietary restrictions, I have to be very careful where I eat and how food is prepared. (Trust me, I detest being one of "those" people, but for the sake of my health, it is what it is...). They staff is always good about it, and if there is a problem, which has happened only once in the 15 or so times I've been in, they're quick to take care of it and don't act all put out like I've had happen in other restaurants.

This is the first time I've gave less than five stars. Perhaps it's due to the pandemic crisis we're all enduring. But the service I received today was unacceptable. The food I received was not the way I ordered. The food portion was not adequate as it used to be sitting in the restaurant. I spoke to Fred who apologized for the poor service I received. However, when I got home I found my styrofoam trays to be unacceptable. I called the restaurant back and left the young lady my phone number for him to call me back - no call back. In summary, my burger was not cooked the way I ordered it, no lettuce tomato or onions , no cinnamon butter for my sweet potato as requested and my wife's portion to her pulled pork was very little.

Well let's see I'm a truck driver and I order food all over the USA but unless you are spending 150$ you can't get food delivered to a Sysco distribution warehouse you lose so much money with all the truck drivers that come to these places. We bring the food but can't get good food delivered to us makes you want stop altogether. You lost 50 to 70 dollars

Sad day in Alachua. Stopped in for some good barbecue at Sonny's. They never disappoint. Except for today they were out of sliced pork pulled pork sliced turkey and ribs. Ummm wait what? Had to get my salad bar on. Unfortunately that was looking pretty sad too. Everybody has a bad day. I'm sure I'll be back. First time of letdown hopefully this is not a trend.Updated my review. From one star to three stars. Not being a sports fan didn't realize this happened on super bowl Sunday. They still should have planned better. But at least I can understand what happened now.

Consistent good bbq. Not the best but good. All you can eat salad bar is a great option if in a hurry. Their chicken portions (esp dark) are small so pass order something else if you're really hungry. Entrance sometimes has a funky smell of cleaning solutions... Still, an almost weekly punch spot.

Arrived at 4:10 pm and was not/still haven't been acknowledged! Yes my husband and I are still here waiting and watching everyone else get taken care of. I've never ever seen such a display in my life. The front end manager came over and said he'd send us someone and apologized to us. A new waitress by the name of Amy(sorry if I misspelled her name)reported for her shift she was immediately sent to our table and has been excellent❤ Started off horrible and ended up great! Never had to give under 5 stars😔
